The beautiful Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1100 is finally here—and what an absolute joy it is to watch it work. This printer is the next evolution of the award-winning PRO-1000, trusted by artists and photographers around the world for its unbeatable print quality. It’s considered one of the best in its class for professional fine art printing—and after seeing it in action, it’s easy to understand why.
Honestly? The prints look better than the original artwork. The color, the depth, the sharpness… it’s hard to believe it’s even possible. I’m completely stunned by the results.
Of course, there was a bit of a learning curve—or maybe, naturally, there had to be. I wish I had known a few key things before jumping in… but hey, what better way to learn than by wasting expensive materials and making a mess? Yikes. To give you an idea of just how new this was for me: my very first test print came out blurry, soaked, and totally off. Everything seemed correct—the printer settings, the paper type, the file. So what went wrong? Well, the answer is pretty embarrassing, but to my defense: the back side of the paper looks a lot like the front.
Luckily, it didn’t take long to get everything looking perfect. Once everything was set up properly—right device, right software, right side of the paper (ahem)—things clicked into place. Using 800 PPI on large-format paper made a huge difference in capturing every little detail, and I’ll be putting together a full video soon to help others avoid those beginner pitfalls. I couldn’t find a single clear guide out there that really breaks down the basics of fine art inkjet printing for complete newbies, so I’ll do my best to create the one I wish I had. Stay tuned!
So here it is—the beating heart of the studio. This printer is seriously next-level, capturing extreme detail and color with incredible precision. It feels a little unreal to finally have full control over every part of the printing process, and I can’t wait to share more about it.

Thanks for reading—and have a beautiful day. 🌿
